Every year, MMSC puts together events to both educate and promote our efforts.  As a non-profit, this enables us to continue our goal to save and preserve marine wildlife.

Why Did the Terrapin Cross the Road?

Speaker: Kim from the Margate Terrapin Rescue Project

Join the Margate Terrapin Rescue Project to learn about your local Diamondback Terrapins, how you can help save these unique creatures and why exactly terrapins are indeed crossing the road!   The presentation and program will explore Diamondback terrapins, a special type of turtle that lives in the back bays of the barrier islands. This program will also focus on terrapins, the threats they are facing locally and ways the Margate Terrapin Rescue Project is working to protect them. There will be hands-on activities including an interaction with a live terrapin.
